NIE Card
Also known Certificado de Registro de Ciudadano de la Unión Europea (CUE). It is an official document issued exclusively to European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA) citizens who plan to live in Spain for more than three months. It confirms their legal residence status and it is necessary for certain administrative processes, such as obtaining public healthcare or exchanging a driver’s license. The NIE card is a small green document that contains personal information and the NIE number. When you apply for the NIE card, you receive both, the NIE number and the card, at the same time. it is not an identification document, as it does not include a photo. European citizens can use their national ID card to identify themselves in Spain.
